My BDavis (WMF) SUL account is a member of the Global IP block exemptions group so that I can work from an IPv6 address provided by Hurricane Electric's https://tunnelbroker.net/ 6in4 tunneling service. This is necessary because the 2001:470:0:0:0:0:0:0/32 address space of tunnelbroker.net has been globally blocked under the WM:NOP policy.
Today I discovered that the rights granted by my global-ipblock-exempt membership are not enough to allow my account to be attached to new wikis. When attempting to login at these wikis I am shown an error message similar to:
This has proven to be the case via manual testing at:
- https://as.wikiquote.org
- https://bbc.wikipedia.org
- https://bjn.wikiquote.org
- https://blk.wiktionary.org
I assume the same issue would be found on the other 13 SUL wikis where I do not currently have an account.
