- Title of session: Design discussion: Content discovery on Wikipedia
- Session description:
I will give folks a sneak peak of the focus areas that the Web Team at WMF is planning to work on as part of our 2024-5 Annual Plan. I'll share a few very early design concepts and ask participants for their feedback and ideas. We are just at the very early ideation phase for these potential features. I'm hoping to have an open discussion about helping readers to better traverse Wikipedia, as well as how to make articles more efficient for readers looking for specific information.

- Here are some of the concepts we might discuss:
- How might we fill the empty state of the search bar with relevant and interesting recommendations?
- How might we allow readers to multi-task while they're navigating a Wikipedia "rabbit hole"?
- How might we surface simplified, machine-generated summaries of articles?
- How might we surface links to related articles?
- How might we surface links to orphan articles?
