Interieur - 's-Gravenhage - 20089866 - RCE.jpg inconsistent, needs new upload
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Interieur_-_%27s-Gravenhage_-_20089866_-_RCE.jpg is in an inconsistent state - the version in eqiad is partial (if you view original and end up in eqiad, you'll get a partial image).

I've extracted the codfw image, which is correct; it needs re-uploading (based on experience in T380738 the underlying objects may need deleting and/or an intermediate image uploading first).

It's too big to upload to phab, so it's on my people website: https://people.wikimedia.org/~mvernon/codfw-Interieur_-_'s-Gravenhage_-_20089866_-_RCE.jpg

This is most likely the same race condition loss as we see (debugged in more detail) in T381891

Event Timeline

I suggest asking a community member, ideally the original uploader to do this. @Multichill hiii, your bot uploaded these files, due to a swift/mediawiki bug, one of them in one of datacenters is corrupted now. Would you mind re-uploading the files? See also T381891: Interieur - 's-Gravenhage - 20085391 - RCE.jpg inconsistent, needs new upload You probably have to upload an intermediary random image in between, otherwise mw doesn't allow you to reupload the file with the same sha1 hash. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I can't revert or upload any files, I just get "The file "mwstore://local-multiwrite/local-public/4/4e/Interieur_-_'s-Gravenhage_-_20089866_-_RCE.jpg" is in an inconsistent state within the internal storage backends"

MatthewVernon claimed this task.

This week's rclone sync job has fixed this for us (I've purged the commons page, which I think will cause thumbs to be regenerated too) - the eqiad copy now is the full image (with a timestamp of 03:54 on Monday 16th).
