Attempting to create an account that already exists should log in if the password is correct
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Author: dbenbenn

Description:
If I attempt to create a new account, and the username already exists,
[[Special:Userlogin]] fails with the message

The user name you entered is already in use. Please choose a different name.

If the password I used is the right password for the account anyway, the
software could save me a step by simply logging me in instead of complaining.
