Description:
Hi,
the Italian translation included in MediaWiki 1.4.7 is fairly good, but could
use an improvement. There were:
- some untranslated strings;
- some tech jargon (i.e. untranslated English that only techies really
understand, even though there are commonly used translations, less intimidating
for the average mom): template (=>"modello"), database (=>"banca dati"), link
(=>"collegamento"), FAQ (=>"Domande ricorrenti"), login (=>"Accesso") and so on;
- some horrors as "linkano" or "settaggio".
Furthermore, some bookstores that allow for ISBN searches have been added
(Feltrinelli, Einaudi, librialice.it). I'm not confident these are very
important, I rarely mail in Italy (Italian mail took 5 months last time).
I worked from the file present in 1.4.7, I hope that was a good starting point.
