Default Bugzilla "Priority" value on product level instead of global
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Make it possible to define the default priority value on a per-product level, instead of globally.

Upstream: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106592

This proposal might be preferences overkill, but I assume that other projects using Bugzilla also have numerous development teams with a number of differing workflows that contradict each other.

Example:

  • Development team X has triagers, so initial reports are set to "Unprioritized" priority by default. Triagers then set the correct priority after initial triage.
  • Development team Y (without triagers) considers all new reports low priority by default, until a developer picks up one ticket and sets it to higher priority.
