Description:
Hallo!

[[en:Special:Contributions/62.47.29.32]] shows now

(Latest | Earliest) View (previous 250) (next 250) (20 | 50 | 100 | 250 | 500).

  • 20:00, 21 April 2003 (hist) (diff) Greece
  • 18:59, 21 April 2003 (hist) (diff) Aristotle

(Latest | Earliest) View (previous 250) (next 250) (20 | 50 | 100 | 250 | 500).

The *title* of the special page is *User contributions For 62.47.29.32* .

Newbies would expect that if they click on links *which are not in brackets*
they would get the information suggested in the title. This is not the case
because these links lead to the *newest* revision.

What about somthing looking as:

  • 20:00, 21 April 2003 (hist) (diff) Greece (newest)
  • 18:59, 21 April 2003 (hist) (diff) Aristotle (newest)

in order not to overload the page with to many additional diffs.

The summary of this bug is incomprehensible.

In the example it looks liks [[Greece]] and [[Aristotle]] are the *most*
relevant links to see the contributions. But these are links to versions from
2006 and not the ones relating to the contributions. Those contributions are
from 2003.

The bug suggests to offer *direct links to the contributions / revisions made by
the user / anon. Nevertheless links to *(newest)* revisions can be available too.

One can already access the version of the page as it was after the user's edit
by viewing the diff, then clicking the "Revision as of <date/time>" link on the
diff. window.

*One can* but only if you know how. That's not the case for « newbies » .

The solution is similar as for
bug 012078 add « oldid » to the autocomment

[[Greece]] should link to
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Greece&oldid=854582

and

[[Aristotle]] should link to
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Aristotle&oldid=870228

I don't think this is necessary (& I don't think it will help usability much if any) - suggest WONTFIX

Closed. Taking users to an old version may or may not make more sense to them. As of now, the date already links to the old revision.
