Description:
I have recently been working a bit on removing fair use images from people's user pages on en:Wikipedia (per policy
there), and I have noticed that the number one complaint seems to be that having a gallery of these images on theyr
userpage allow them to easily monitor them for upload vandalism, something that is very hard without the gallery.
This is a valid point, so I would suggest that actions like overwriting images and reverting to older revisions of
an image be noted somehow in people's watchlists. I realise this might not be a trivial task seeing as file and
edit history are two seperate things, but I still feel it's something that rely needs to be implemented. When you
add an image to your watchlist it's because you want to keep an eye on changes there after all, so the fact that
someone uploading a new file on top of it is not reported is rather counter intuitive, and something that should be
fixed if at all possible.
