Description:

Hi,
my name is Petr Brož and I am working on Wikipedia projects as Chmee2. I
hold project about Protected areas on Czech Wikipedia and we were producing
professional PR advertisement which will containing Youtube "viral" movie
and printing campaign in newspapers. Our aim is take new editors to join
Wikipedia and start editing. Therefore we need some short url address which
will be possible to use in campaign. I'd like to request make redirect
from www.wikipedie.cz/Experti_na_prirodu to
http://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedie:WikiProjekt_Chráněná_území/Experti_na_přírodu.
This page will be use as a main page for all our PR activity
associated
with this and the shorter link in presentations.
The movie and printing campaign is holding in secret now and will be
published soon. Some informations are available here
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Presentation%26Outreach/advertisement_about_protected_areas
Thanks for your help and if you have a questions, please, ask!
Best regards,
Petr Brož aka Chmee2

Hi,
synced and pushed out this new change:
https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/15237/
which was a followup to https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/14869/2
and just put the rules in another order.
Looks good to me for all 4 combinations of http(s) and with(out) www:

Hi Daniel,
sorry, I am at Wikimania in DC and I do not have my laptop here with me,
therefore I can not check it the URL earlier.
I tried the URL today and it is not working or better say, not valid. It is
redirecting the page to Czech Wikipedia but to the invalid name page. Here
is the link again, if you will be able to fix it to the right place.

Hi Petr,
indeed there was an issue with URL encoding. Sorry about that, it should _not_
have been in the rewrite URL in encoded form.
It has been changed again here and pushed live:
https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/15705/1
che0 also helped taking a look.
I talked to #wikipedia-cs channel about this and i hope that was all fine,
because you mentioned it was kind of "secret" (but not for people who already
are users anyways, right:)
Also he suggested to use - instead of _:
13:16 < che0> 't it be better to use hyphens instead of underscores in the
redirect?
13:16 < che0> mutante: i think that url was supposed to be used in print ads
Since that seemed to make sense to me for print ads, i followed the suggestion
and made it optional, so you can use _ OR - in the URL.
Also talked to che0 about Apache config now being in git and gerrit, so if you
guys would like any other changes in the future, feel free to just send them
into gerrit.
15:32 < mutante> che0: https://labsconsole.wikimedia.org/wiki/Git
15:32 < mutante> (where it says operations/puppet you can replace with
operations/apache-config repo)
15:33 < che0> mutante: this is good; in future we'll be able to propose changes
simply by pointing to git changesets
Best regards,
Daniel
