too long width in edit compare function en.wikipedia.org
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Author: ww_je

Description:
I can't find an existing bug that matches, so this may be new. On
en.wikipedia.org, when reviewing edits using the 'compare versions' method, I
have been getting increasingly frequent problems with the display. Older edit is
wide, and new edit is equally wide (estimated there, I haven't gone character
counting), sometimes the width of the browser text box and more for each. This
renders comparison whilst wikiediting essentially impossible. All text appears
to be displayed w/ additions/deletions, all edits appear to be properly
highlighted, no change in font size or type. Browser used is Firefox 1.05, stock
version (no special variations). Happens on ordinary text, does not require
overlong 'words' such as URLs or any other noticeable patten in the text (either
old version or new version). Browser works normally on all other sites tested,
have run frequent virus sweeps and spyware checks. Problem invariant across
reboots, change to current version of Firefox.

Occurance: Began before updating to 1.05 and is becoming more common. Not
connected with any thus far identifiable use pattern (article, time, etc). But,
becoming more common of late, interferring with more and more edits.
