I think this has evolved in a few places to:

We now have OpenGraph cards, the apps have sharing features, integration of discussions into the different channels is generally considered (although there's more work to be done always) and so on. There isn't work planned immediately concerning social that I'm aware of, although I know there are some other tickets that are better filled out. I'm board grooming, so closing this task out.
