Was thinking that it might be the skin so did a try with another default skin in MediaWiki but that gave the same result.

Sorry for not reply-ing. I did a test and couldn't reproduce it anymore. Might put it on Hold/Resolved without solution/whatever. ;-)

No problem. It had low priority as we will in our company probably use
the LTS-version 1.23 until the end of support, but just wanted to see if
it was futureproof enough. Glad that it was easier to fix than first
expected. You pointed me in the good direction with your mention of the
$wgValidSkinNames. Thanx.
