There is absolutely no need for this. Modern Hindi publications have LONG moved on to the international Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3...). The use of Devanagari numerals (१, २, ३...) is rather archaic if not completely obsolete.

With this addition to the discussion, I've provided links to the official websites of the Indian government, the World Hindi Secretariat, secondary and tertiary educational publications, textbooks and by-laws, as well as links to various popular online Hindi-language news sites. ALL of which are using the international Arabic numeric system.

In fact, one will find more Roman numerals (I, II, III...) in a modern Hindi textbook than Devanagari numerals!

This is not the place for Discussion. The Dissolution is ongoing on Local Village Pump. Here only Matters Cumminty Consensus, not your personal Opinion. Use Local Village Pump for any kind of Discussion.

There really isn't any such need for this, at least for Hindi Wiki. The Bhojpuri and Punjabi Wikipedias also seem to be using Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3...) at default. Perhaps this feature is needed for Sanskrit and the Eastern Nagari-based Wikipedias, but my knowledge is limited in that context.

Modern Hindi publications have LONG moved on to use the international Arabic numerals with the Devanagari numerals remaining largely obsolete and archaic.

So You Want to tell us that Indian Government will decide numerical System on Wiki. Ex. Pali Language is about to die. There is few native of this language. But Wikimedia is not closing Pali Wikipedia. So I repeat that Here only matters community consensus, not personal opinion. Please Don't add the third party (Such Indian Government or Hindi news websites).
