The transliteration tool in Punjabi needs some improvement. 1. Every character has a halant(ਸ੍) instead of (ਸ) with it so we have to type "a" after every character. This increases the no. of keystrokes. We need some other method for the typing the conjuncts. 2. Punjabi has only a few conjuncts so instead of a halant with every character we need some other method to type the conjunct character. Only three consonants are used as conjuncts; ਹ੍ as in ਨ੍ਹ = ਨ+ਹ੍; half rara - ਰ੍ as in ਪ੍ਰ = ਪ+ਰ੍; and half vava - ਵ੍ as in ਸ੍ਵ = ਸ+ਵ੍.
