We presently have 11 db proxy systems in eqiad (dbproxy1001-1022.) These are old, re-purposed single cpu, dual ssd systems (originally squids). I've created this task to check with @jcrespo on if this service group (dbproxy) is also required in codfw, and if so, are the requirements the same? The old requirements were 'any available older systems', as these are some of the slowest one's we have in the datacenter. Please advise on the ideal ghz/core/memory/disk/network spec/ratios (if we have them) & quantities required. If this service cluster is required in both sites, please advise if this already has a rollout plan/timeline.
