The iOS app is (by own admission) using fair use images in their promotional images/cards on the app store. It is true that we do not store these promotional cards on our servers, so the Fair use Wikimedia Foundation Licensing policy resolution of March 23, 2007 might not apply since it is not on one of our own projects, however it is one of our products, and therefore should be covered under the same policy. On this card (image to be added) we acknowledge that we are using fair use content to promote our application. That would not be an acceptable fair use rational under any Exemption Doctrine Policy on any project.
