Description

According to @Susannaanas: Wikimaps Warper is a tool with an API in Labs for georectifying maps. Can be used as is and take advantage of structured data for Commons or would benefit from refactoring into a more lightweight tool

This task has been assigned to the same task owner for more than two years. Resetting task assignee due to inactivity, to decrease task cookie-licking and to get a slightly more realistic overview of plans. Please feel free to assign this task to yourself again if you still realistically work or plan to work on this task - it would be welcome!

Not sure how @Susannaanas feels about it, but IMO this task is still valid. A maps warper is a valuable tool for Wikimedia Commons, and it does make sense to make it compatible with structured data. Not sure how to resource this and how to make this happen though.
