The racking/stacking task will be set for cp2001-cp2026 via this task. However, it is currently assgined to @RobH until we get @mark & @BBlack to sign off on the proposed layout/load distribution.
I'd assume we would want to quantity balance these across all 4 rows, in the 10G racks. So that is rack 2 and 7 in each row. Since rows A-C already have items in racks 2 & 7, I'd suggest putting the extra 2 servers in row D.
My proposed layout is thus:
cp2001: a2
cp2002: a2
cp2003: a2
cp2004: a7
cp2005: a7
cp2006: a7
cp2007: b2
cp2008: b2
cp2009: b2
cp2010: b7
cp2011: b7
cp2012: b7
cp2013: c2
cp2014: c2
cp2015: c2
cp2016: c7
cp2017: c7
cp2018: c7
cp2019: d2
cp2020: d2
cp2021: d2
cp2022: d2
cp2023: d7
cp2024: d7
cp2025: d7
cp2026: d7
If this is acceptable, I'll update this task and assign to Papaul. When assigned to him, it will include the following items:
- - receive in servers normally per processes in RT (linked off T98005)
- - rack cp2001-cp2026 in the racks listed above
- - update mgmt dns in repo for the new cp mgmt entries (feel free to add @RobH for review/merge); ensure mgmt dns entries include both hostname.mgmt and servicetag.mgmt.
- - update this task listing each system's network port (which is plugged into the 10G switch via the DAC cables, not fiber optic patches)
- - add systems to racktables, including RT info and service tag info (should already be completed as part of receiving systems)
- - update racktables for each system rack location
- - update bios setttings for use
- - update drac settings for use
- - test serial console redirection/drac ssh connectivity
- - Additionally, each system has to have the HDDs removed and replaced with the SSDs we ordered. We want to install two of the SSDs into each of these systems. The order for these was on the same RT ticket.
