Initial text in ingress (lead-in) is cut off in articles run through content translation
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

The initial text in the ingress, typically the text with the lead-in, is cut off in articles run through content translation. Two example articles that generated this problem are Friedrich Mohs (nnwiki) with the diff (nowiki) and Mike Botts (nnwiki) with the diff (nowiki). In both cases the nnwiki (Norwegian Nynorsk) has a content template for born date like the following

Michael G. Botts fødd 8. desember 1944, død 9. desember 2005 var ein USA-amerikansk trommeslagar, mest kjend som medlem av softrockbandet Bread og studiomusikar.

I guess the code is somehow stripping off all kind of garbage initially, and the initial text gets lost because there is a following template. Perhaps a solution could be to have a list of whitelisted content templates that are known to be safe to prosess and use in their final form?

Note that this specific template is only trying to extract some information to create categories, while the text is more or less just passed on unchanged. Well, there are some minor changes.

There are three such templates at nnwiki

I was struggelig with another template at nnwiki the other day, and it had several problems. Still it was possible to fix it. It seems to me that this is "crappy templates" and not "crappy tool". Will close as invalid.
