[[foo]]'s and [[foo|foo's]] do no give the same output. Is this on purpose?

See T16655: remove apostrophe \' from $linkTrail (introduced in r36253), where a past change to include "'s" in the link trail was reverted.

If there were to be consensus (probably on Meta, since it would affect a lot more than just enwiki) that "'s" should be included in the link trail, it would be an easy enough change to make. But at the moment it's not clear to me whether there's even local consensus in the linked conversations.
