This information isn't stored in the revision table.

Don't see the need for this. Why would bots flood a single page?

There are pages with a history, full with bot changes.
For example http://nl.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Geschiedenis&action=history and http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Luxembourg_%28Belgium%29&action=history

But there are many pages with only bot edits like municipalities, where it would be difficult to hide bots, I think.

Robin, this is a rare case. I think it would be better for you to develop a user script which hides bot edits for you.

An edit's "bot" status applies when it is listed in changes pages (Special:Recentchanges, Special:Watchlist etc.) and indicates that the change should not be shown by default, i.e. provides a means of filtering recent changes.

It doesn't make sense to preserve this information for page histories, since it is more or less meaningless in that context.

I'd also agree with rob on this one as for it being out of context.

Also, this seems to be an ad-hoc feature creep based on limited cases of usefulness that would rarely come up.

I think you're right.
But sometimes it disturbed me, so I was thinking if it couldn't be fixed.
