Disabled workboards are still linked by tags (requires removing the Pin icon for the workboard under "Project Details")
Open, LowPublic

Description

I disabled the workboard for MediaWiki-Internationalization. Now whoever clicks the tag receives an unhelpful and misleading error message:

This workboard has been disabled, but can be restored to its former glory.

The error message should not be displayed at the URL /tag/mediawiki-internationalization/ . This bug can be considered an extreme case of T89865.

The workaround is to manually make the workboard non-default at https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/project/144/panel/configure/ (a very unfriendly positioning too, as this has nothing to do with panels). This setting should be implied by the disabling of the workboard.

Examples of incorrect (partial) disabling (without applying the workaround):

Aklapper edited projects, added Phabricator (Upstream); removed Phabricator.

The workaround is to manually make the workboard non-default

I did not find my way either initially, hence upstream explained it in T122253#2038712.

So this task should probably be called "Replacing the workboard view by the project description is not obvious enough" and be discussed with upstream, hence removing Phabricator and setting Phabricator (Upstream).

"Not obvious enough" is an unwarranted euphemism. Correct terminology is left as an exercise for the reader.

Aklapper renamed this task from Disabled workboards are still linked by tags to Disabled workboards are still linked by tags (requires removing the Pin icon for the workboard under "Project Details").Apr 29 2016, 6:24 AM
