Some projects use the no picture icon:
while others use the project icon:
which is confusing, because they are basically the same, and it's not clear what the difference means. I think there is no difference, so would it be possible to change the 'no picture' icon to be the same as the 'blue project' icon?

That's when someone set that icon for that project.
So the request here is to make the project icon the default icon? That's probably something for upstream...
Project icons are completely random so I'm afraid there is no differentiation. There is a default image, and there is the option to use an icon and a color (and one of the available icons is quite similar). Note that the project default icon has changed since this task was created.
