I found the section in an archive (please specify oldid to prevent us having to search for such things in future) - https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Archive_57#Move

Technically impossible regardless of user permissions

So what do you expect us to do here?

Presumably, to create a way to override that block.

That's not something we do in Wikimedia-Site-requests, this is a request to change user permissions.

Presumably, to create a way to override that block.

Removed from Wikimedia-Site-requests, but yes, requesting a way to override that block.

What would the behaviour be when you override this? Page moved but image stays put?

In the case where override was requested, there was no actual image on the page, just a text page in the file namespace. We just want to move the page (and the text), no images.

MarkTraceur moved this task from Untriaged to Triaged on the Multimedia board.
MarkTraceur added a subscriber: MarkTraceur.

Seems like a pretty niche use-case. If this is more common than I think, let us know and we'll take a look.
