Show Ithenticate ID for each record in the CopyPatrol interface
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Brought up here.

The main use case here is that the Ithenticate ID is the only unique thing to each of the records. Sometimes you'll see records that look identical because the plagiarism is on the same page, by the same user, from the same source but it's done in several consecutive edits which appear separately on the interface. Showing the ID would allow users to differentiate between separate edits.

Event Timeline

I'm trying to figure out the goal here.

If there's two suspicious edits by the same person on the same page, then it would probably be best to judge both of them at the same time. If both edits are copyvio, then you should revert them both. If one is and the other isn't, then you fix the bad one.

But it doesn't matter whether you mark one as "Fixed" and the other as "No action needed." The only thing that matters is that you fixed what needed to be fixed, and cleared the cases.

So I'm not sure why seeing what I assume is a random-looking sequence of numbers would help, especially if it's visible on every case.

The new feed acts much like changes list on the wiki. There are Diff links, the edit summary, tags, etc. Beyond that, you need to hover or click on something to differentiate between seemingly identical reports.

Also, we now have Permalinks, which goes by the iThenticate ID.

Closing as I don't think this is necessary, but anyone should feel free to re-open if they disagree.
