When monobook interface is applied, wikitext editor automatically clear everything out
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

The problem is first noticed today, when I editing my draft in zhwp. Being a fan of monobook, wikitext editor clear everything soon after I start to edit. That make me frustrated. From reports from my colleagues there, zh.wikinews.org suffers from the same problem. Though nothing happened if I switched to Vector interface, VE or turn on WikED editor (my provisional solution).

Hi @springrollconan, thanks for taking the time to report this!

Wondering if this is the same problem as reported in https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T142137 - does it look like on the screenshot?

Which browser do you use?

Hi @springrollconan, thanks for taking the time to report this!

Wondering if this is the same problem as reported in https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T142137 - does it look like on the screenshot?

Yes. The problem is similar, though from the screenshot I can see that the Vector skin is applied.
PS. When I did my last attempt to reproduce the bug when the Vector skin is applied, I didn't log in.

...and does this also happen after disabling all gadgets in your Wikimedia preferences?

I just done it recently, it seems that no problems are there.

Does that mean that you cannot reproduce the problem anymore?

No. When I turn on the gadgets, turn off WikED, add something by using wikitext editor, then the problem can still be reproduced.

I see. Thanks for clarifying! This makes me pretty sure that this is the same problem as T142137, hence I am merging this task into T142137.
Further handling of the reported issue happens in T142137.
