@Slaporte are you working on this task? From T146901, I see that the back-end has still some work to do for closing the round? Or is it just front-end work? We should prioritize this task in a way that we can finish it by the weekend, as at least one country may close their round 1 by then.

mahmoud moved this task from Backlog to In-progress on the Montage board.

@mahmoud can you explain why the logic is changed? :) One reason that the original logic made sense was that in the final round, there won't be a next round, and at the time the coordinator closes the round, the results/winning-photos should become available to him/her.

The logic is largely the same. Montage's streamlined approach is that the winners of one round are the entrants into the next round. In addition to the simpler user experience, this avoids all sorts of process issues that could result if there is a phase between rounds. We couldn't think of any interactions that Montage could provide between rounds that it also shouldn't want during rounds (adjusting jurors, etc.).

As for the final round, closing the campaign closes the final round and generates the final results. Rounds exist only to drive the campaign lifecycle ahead, and that is reflected in this workflow. All rounds are created in a paused state, allowing for adjustments to be made before the round is activated.

Also, yesno round -> rating round advancement is tested working in the backend. I'm onto ranking stuff now, so I think we have a healthy head start.

I don't know what you mean by a phase between rounds. in the model I propose, the coordinator closes the round, gets the output of that round (including the winning photos in that round), and no other action is needed from the coordinator unless the coordinator wants to create a new round. Note that not all countries will go all the way to the ranking round using Montage. It can be that a coordinator does 3 rounds of Yes/No and then closes the campaign, export the results, and goes with those results to an in-person meeting with the jury, for example. (This scenario does happen btw, in real life. :)

Currently there is a problem wilt WLM Latvia.
We have completed voting on Yes/No round.

Voting Stats (seems to be very strange results for yes/no round)
1 / 5: 706 images
2.333333333333333 / 5: 3 images
3 / 5: 1062 images
3.6666666666666665 / 5: 2 images
5 / 5: 416 images

Status is "Round not ended"

"+ Add next round" is greyed out with message "Previous round needs to be completed first".

Let's review and close/update this task after the international jury process starts given that most of the items in the description are already addressed.

@mahmoud: Hi! This task has been assigned to you a while ago. Could you maybe share an update? Are you still working (or still plan to work) on this task? (Only if you do not plan to work on this task anymore, please consider removing yourself as assignee (via Add Action...Assign / Claim in the dropdown menu). That would allow others to work on this (in theory), as others won't think that someone is already working on this.) Thanks for your understanding! :)

@mahmoud: I am resetting the assignee of this task because there has not been progress lately (please correct me if I am wrong!).
Resetting the assignee avoids the impression that somebody is already working on this task. It also allows others to potentially work towards fixing this task.
Please claim this task again when you plan to work on it (via Add Action...Assign / Claim in the dropdown menu) - it would be welcome! Thanks for your understanding!
