Private logging through Special:Log interface
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

current rev_deleted patch

For revisiondelete and perhaps other things in the future, private logs are needed. It would be nice to have one unified way of doing these sort of basic private logs (more complex logs like checkuser would need their own anyway).

My current idea is to use the logging table with $wgRestrictedLogs. The patch is shown above.

The patch is obsolete. You're adding information pertaining Oversight to DefaultSettings.php disregarding the fact that Oversight (better say "Hide Revision") is an extension, not part of the core of MediaWiki.

The idea of restricting log access (which is already being practiced, if I'm not wrong) is a good one; the solution suggested here is not.

Does anyone have any useful comments about problems with the method or better ways of doing this?
