Weird behaviour clicking on Cite footnotes/numbers
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Two problems:

  • Clicking on the ↑ link for a reference from the <references/> section does not bring the user to the correct position, as the fixed header winds up covering the line with the reference actually in it.
  • Clicking on a [5] link results in multiple lines in the <references/> section being highlighted, not just the intended one. Clicking on a ↑ link from the <references/> section causes the line to break upon highlighting the [5] link. These are probably the same issue, but may or may not actually be.

The second issue may be being caused by an attempt to fix the first failing and breaking things. Or not.

Also something weird is happening with a blinking outline around the highlighted reference in the <references/> sometimes. But this is only around the correct one. This may be due to a gadget. I have no idea what's going on anymore.

[mediawiki/skins/Timeless@master] Add offset for # links to work around fixed header on desktop

Isarra claimed this task.

(Was actually fixed some time ago when someone reverted the then css-based solution to T181484, which was causing this.)
