Is there a particular reason this tag should not be added?

If there's a good reason not to have it, we can get rid of it - we're not using this for anything else.
But I see no harm in tagging uploads as such (and it already happens for "cross-wiki upload" too), and I think there's benefit to being able to filter uploads this way (https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:RecentChanges&tagfilter=uploadwizard)

Tag i18n key was blanked (https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=MediaWiki:Tag-uploadwizard&action=history) in order to remove (Tag: Upload Wizard) from the log excerpts, while still internally applying the tag (and providing possibility to filter based on tags)

I assume this solves the problem, that was mainly about the additional tag noise in the logs - not the functionality?

Exactly, the functionality remains.

I don't see how anything is solved here. Looking at my contributions or my watchlist I still see the tag ''(Markierung: Hochladeassistent)'' on yellow background near todays uploads. Note that the tag is translated to german, since I've set that language on commons.
