I am using Timeless skin in MediaWiki.org and I have been missing new notifications... because the notification with the number of pending messages is always gray.

In Vector skin, the same element in gray means "no new messages". When there are new messages, that element turns red. It's simple and clear.

In Timeless, now that I know that the element will always stay gray, I need to remember how many notifications I had, and compare with the new number. (No, many times I don't have "inbox zero" here either). :)

It would be great if Timeless could also paint that element in red when new notifications are available.
