cp5010 - no link on primary ethernet port
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

cp5010 complains there's no link on the primary ethernet port when attempting PXE boot. Could be just switch config issues, or could be a hw/cabling problem?

Switch config says xe-1/0/4, but that port appears to be missing (no SFP?)

I also double-check the connection tracking spreadsheet and that should be the proper port.

Switch says

error: device xe-1/0/4 not found

And the transceiver (DAC) is missing from under FPC1/PIC0/Xcvr 4

The two main causes can be:

  • Faulty DAC (needs to be replaced)
  • Improperly connected DAC (needs to be re-seated)

The DAC needed to be seated on the switch side
@BBlack please check and see if you can get not to the server

BBlack assigned this task to Papaul.

DHCP works, so interface is fixed, thanks!
