Description

Check Wikipedia error number 64 says

A piped link has identical text before and after the pipe. AWB and AutoEd can usually fix these. MediaWiki displays [[link|link]] as [[link]].

Most of the time (on the Hungarian Wikipedia), it is caused by the Visual Editor when a user edit a link (it can also make other problems, see T56947). I think VE could solve this problem if it would check and fix these links before saving.

The problem is not that serious to we should run a bot just for fixing these links, but VE itself could solve it easily and should prevent their births.

Can you provide some diffs of the visual editor inserting [[link|link]] recently?

@Deskana My bad, VE doesn't do it directly. I try to explain the problem with Beke Ödön article. This edit gave me the idea. I have második világháborút text and Második világháború article.

Expected output: [[második világháború]]t
Output: [[Második világháború|második világháborút]] (link)

There are two problems with this. First, although it works, but is not the correct form. Second, if a user changes the sentence in the old and the 2017 wikitext editor, [[link|link]] format is imaginable.

In summary, VE creates the opportunity for this. VE should fix [[text|textsomething]], shouldn't creating them. I hope I was understandable.
