replace bad disk in db2059
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

This task will track the installation and testing of a new seagate sas disk, ordered on T195867, in db2059.

db2059 has a bad disk, and we just ordered a single shelf spare 600GB SAS disk. We need to try it out in the existing raids to ensure it will work without issue. If this tests fine, we'll order a dozen more disks, so please ensure a followup is posted on T195867 when testing is complete.

We can probably test it with db2059 as it has one disk on predictive failure:

physicaldrive 1I:1:12 (port 1I:box 1:bay 12, SAS, 600 GB, Predictive Failure)

Please coordinate with DBA team to swap out physicaldrive 1I:1:12 (port 1I:box 1:bay 12, SAS, 600 GB, Predictive Failure). We will need to ensure it rebuilds properly.

I've set this to high priority due to the looming end of fiscal. If this new SAS disk works fine and the raid rebuilds without incident, we'll be ordering a dozen (or more) additional disks for shelf spares.

@Papaul feel free to replace the disk as soon as you get it

Thanks!
