There are a lot of Historical maps at Lantmäteriet in Sweden the Swedish mapping, cadastral and land registration authority see Wiki
Status

- A Facebook question has been asked and we have got feedback see FB id=10161572400705377
- A proof of concept has been done on Swedish WIkipedia with 2000 Swedish Church parishes see Användare:Salgo60/TestT203390 and the result is more than satisfying
- Next step
- Get feedback from Lantmäteriverket if this is recommended. Do they support WGS84? Any other way to search?
- Decide if and how the function should be used on sv:WIkipedia ( I guess in a infobox for Swedish Church Parishes "församlingar")
- Create an external tool that can be used by e.g. [T200181] ==>
- they send the church archives NAD number
- we finds the associated Wikidata object
- we will use the WGS84 coordinate for the WD object and translate it to SWEREF 99 TM and then redirect it to Historical maps see Wikidata tool hub using the same concept - github
- example NAD SE/HLA/1010201 = Söderala finds WD object Q10688470 that has property 625 = 61°16'50.05"N, 16°57'24.50"E ==> we convert that to a SWEREF 99 TM box
==> we can display "Sockenkarta" from 1654 link
User case: as a person doing genealogy or reading about a Swedish Church parish "församling" or a Swedish administrative parish "socken" would like to have an easy way to show Historical maps for this area in the same way as we today can link
- The Swedish National Archives churchbooks
- SCB maps for the church parish "församling" 2008
- Swedish WIkipedia article
- Open Street maps
Example search Historical maps
