Checkuser IP->Edits omitting "blocked user" indication
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Author: FT2.wiki

Description:
The function "IP (range) -> users" shows for each user whether they are blocked. The function "IP (range) -> edits" does not.

Without adding too much to the detailed report of IP->Edits, can this function at least indicate (perhaps by some CSS background span color) whether a user is blocked, or has been blocked in the past, etc?

It's really quite difficult to review abuse and ensure blocks have been correctly applied on busy ranges or ranges affected by significant socking, because one can't pick out the abusive edits and check the abuser is blocked easily. Instead you have to check each line to another page (IP->User) and scroll up and down to check that username/IP and its blocks, or open their block log - very time consuming for busy ranges.

Thanks.

Not sure how to display this without it looking awkward/cluttered

Icons? On enwiki at least a lot of the checkuser related processes have icons that make it easy to interpret the action or status in a checkuser case "at a glance". Ideal solution, it doesn't need to be garish, or text, a small icon will do the job.

Showing one of three icons (for "currently blocked", "previously blocked" and "never blocked") next to the case would be enough to resolve this, and adding a "block log" link.
