follow options for paragraphs

Description:
Hello,

I would like to suggest a feature to enable following changes in a paragraph (rather than in an entire page). This feature might be very helpful in discussion pages and somewhat helpful in articles (to take Wikipedia for example). For example, sometimes I post a question in the Reference Desk and want to follow the answers to my question only or address a certain user and want to follow our conversation only.

Thank you and best regards,

I was told Liquid Threads makes this possible.

Well, it is not really what I meant. From what I understand, and my computer knowledge is very lacking, it changes the way the page is viewed almost entirely, with all the threads. Isn't there a simpler way to follow (or shall I write 'watch'?) paragraphs? I want to be able to tick a paragraph (the same way I do with a wiki page) and for it to appear on my watch list.

No. Changes are not tracked on paragraph level, not even in the section level. I don't think it is worth the effort, if Liquid Threads is going to be used on WMF anyway (that's where you want it, judging from chosen product for this bug).

Duping this to bug 738 (an old req for section-level watching). We've got active work bringing LiquidThreads back up to date, which is going to handle this sort of need for discussion pages.

Not currently planning to implement section-level watching for article pages, but if it were to be suggested, go ahead and revive it at bug 738.
