@GoranSMilovanovic

Hi Goran,
I linked the tracking doc in the task description. Please have a look and let me know if you have any further questions!

Can we make a registration test just before our meeting? I would make a test registration and you could then tell me, if you received the data. Is that okay for you!

Thank you!

@Christine_Domgoergen_WMDE Of course we can test before our meeting!

I am going through the docs now and I will ping here so that you can know when the analytics code for this project is in place.

@Christine_Domgoergen_WMDE

  • I think that I understand everything, and
  • I have only two questions:

Q1. Where will the pageviews for www.wikimedia.de/mitmachen be stored? How will I be able to access this dataset?

Q2. The event_campaign tags to track user registrations will be of a form event_campaign=strz and event_campaign=staa or something else?

We need to have the answer to Q2 (at least) prior to our test (scheduled no later than Thursday before our meeting, I guess).

Also, please consider my comments on training modules in the User Journey.

Thanks. Looking forward to it.

@GoranSMilovanovic

Hi Goran, thanks for being so fast on this!

Q1. we will store the data and also make the analysis. no task for you here :-)
Q2. I am not sure I understand the question. The tracking of the training modules should work with the mentioned tag and the user data we get from WMF (as in previous campaigns)

@Christine_Domgoergen_WMDE Well it makes sense to be fast on this since it's holiday in Germany tomorrow and our test should take place the day after, right?

Q1. we will store the data and also make the analysis. no task for you here :-)

Yes, but in order to calculate the conversion rate for the 2nd landing page I will need your data (i.e. 1st_page_views_number/2nd_page_views_number = conversion rate for the 2nd_page). So you will need to share the 1st_page_views_number with me.

Q2. I am not sure I understand the question. The tracking of the training modules should work with the mentioned tag and the user data we get from WMF (as in previous campaigns)

Q2 is about user registrations, not training modules:

"Q2. The event_campaign tags to track user registrations will be of a form event_campaign=strz and event_campaign=staa or something else?"

@Christine_Domgoergen_WMDE

Can we make a registration test just before our meeting? I would make a test registration and you could then tell me, if you received the data. Is that okay for you!

Please let me know when you make a test registration or two.

@GoranSMilovanovic

Hi Goran,

I made two test registrations:
Link 1 with campaign tag Link 1: ?campaign=WMDE_2019_strz (users coming from test result strz) - Username "Test Strippenzieherin"
Link 2: ?campaign=WMDE_2019_staa (users coming from test result staa) - Username "Test Star-Autorin"

Did it work?

@Christine_Domgoergen_WMDE Test complete, all fine:

log schema: ServerSideAccountCreation_17719237

   event_userId        event_userName event_campaign
1:      3200133 Test Strippenzieherin WMDE_2019_strz
2:      3200136     Test Star-Autorin WMDE_2019_strz

@GoranSMilovanovic Thank you for the data!

We will run a second test with a better introduction of the landing page. So we could leave the ticket open. We would need weekly reports with daily data on June 21 and June 28. Could you provide the data? Thank you!

Of course. Please state exactly (FROM - TO) the dates for the remaining weekly reports. Thanks.

Great. Of course! We would need the reports for the following weeks:

14.6. - 20.6.
21.6. - 27.6.

Thank you.

@Christine_Domgoergen_WMDE

2019/06/27: no pageviews, no user registrations.

@GoranSMilovanovic Hi Goran, thank you for the update! This looks not so promising, but at least we know now... ;-) Probably there will be another campaign, where we will need the same data again in two months from now. Do you want to leave the task open or should I open another task when its time?

@Christine_Domgoergen_WMDE Will we be using exactly the same parameters as in this campaign, or are we talking about a new, different campaign altogether?

We will be using the same parameters as in this campaign. Maybe one Link (Landingpage Lerne Wikipedia) will change but not the campaign tag. @GoranSMilovanovic

@Christine_Domgoergen_WMDE Then please close this ticket and open a new one when the campaign is ready. It will take me no time to set up the analytics for the new campaign if only parameters like landing pages are different. Thank you.
