Make signing with ~~~~ possible on the Papiamentu Wikipedia (pap.wiki)
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

We noticed it is not possible to sign on pap.wiki with ~~~~ (in source code) in order for the signature to appear. Is it possible to implement this?

Event Timeline

It seems to work fine for me, I was able to insert my signature on this page: https://pap.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Matma_Rex/T223169

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding. Can you clarify the problem?

Hi Matmarex, strange. It does seem to work now. We were on Curaçao last week to help the University of Curaçaowith improving the pap.wiki. This was a consistent bug then ... But as you said: it does now work for me also. Sorry for bothering you.

No worries! It's possible you were typing a different but similar character: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tilde#Similar_characters. Perhaps the keyboard layout of the computer you were using has a combining tilde character instead?

If you run into such problems in the future, note that the editing toolbar has a button to insert the required markup (in talk namespaces only):
