Collect information on SPARQL query builders
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

The idea of visual composition of Wikidata queries, without having to write SPARQL code by hand, has been talked about for a while, and there are several proposed and existing tools around.

This task entails collecting information about these tools, and making it available to the community, so that they can be experimented with by more people, hopefully leading to improvements or inspiration for new tools.

Note: This task was part of the "Improving Visual SPARQL Query builders" project, carried out during the Wikimedia Hackathon 2019. Project poster:

Event Timeline

Done. The collected information is now available at d:Wikidata:Tools/Query data, in a new dedicated section for query builders.

Note in particular the addition of a new tool (T223811) which was created during the same hackathon where this task was being worked on.

Also of note that @Bene's sparql tool, which used to be available at https://tools.wmflabs.org/bene/sparql/, was down; it was restored to a GitHub repository (see T223858), and is currently available at https://waldyrious.github.io/sparql-query-generator, and the new URL has been added to the list mentioned above.
