[Suggestion] New CE dept "map"
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

This is for your consideration. It's not urgent at all, and you should definitely discuss with Quim whether it's in scope for you, makes sense etc.!

2019-2020 CE DEPT MAP

--This map also lived on our team page on Meta. It'd be great to have it again.

Project details

  • What do you want to achieve (goals)?
    • An easily updatable "map"-like image communicating the new CE dept structure. It doesn't need to be a 2.0 version of this one, of course.
  • Who is your target audience (be specific)?
    • Contributors, affiliates.
  • How do you want your audience to feel?
    • It'd be cool if they managed at a glance to understand the new structure and how different teams interact/overlap, if possible.
  • Do you already have an idea of what you need to roll out your project? If so, please check all that apply (i.e. [x]):
    • Blog

    • None.

    • Nobody yet.

Event Timeline

Hello Erica, thank you for this request!
I have discussed this with Quim and as you also mentioned the need for the map or visualization of the department is not urgent. We have even wondered if it's really necessary. I always ask myself when I create something what can this medium do better than another (e.g. is a diagram clearer than text? what is the tradeoff in comprehensiveness?). And while our department is also in the process of change, it's probably best to leave this dormant for now.

When/if we decide we want to work on this, the prerequisite is definitely a detailed text explanation of the structure, in my opinion.
