Ok, let me explain what we would like to import on a monthly basis (if we can do it ourselves, without bothering you, otherwise quarterly). The questions we want to answer are:

A list of newly promoted admins is very interesting, actually, and we can put it into good use. I will try to generate this list with updated dates in the future.

This collection of pages doesn't have an owner at the Foundation these days. If anyone wants to declare them historical, they can because this is what they are. I don't have an opinion myself, and I wasn't (or am) directly related to this project. But if a decision to delete them is needed, I can help getting that decision.

I have found this setting under Display Preferences:

From the admin web interface I can see a custom field including 184 languages, with the language name as label and the 2-letter ISO code as value.

@Dwisehaupt According to the information in the Custom Fields UI, the custom field is ID 32, part of the custom field set ID 10.

I have disabled the theme compoennts and the UI, even if simpler, seems to be fully functional again.

I can look into this later as well. I think it is a matter of removing the custom components.

Thank you for looking into this. I see the developer has responded already. We seem to be in an impasse, where either we... remove Wikimedia login and leave Discourse in pure read-only mode, or if someone has Discourse plans in mind, we talk to the developer to work on a fix. I'm sure there are other possibilities, but these two are logical.

Maybe I wrote my no-reply ask too soon. After receiving a hundred automated replies or so, things stopped. That is a manageable amount of bounces to handle a couple of times every year or so. Cleaning the moderation queue was easy. Also, thanks to that From we have got a couple of genuine replies that were useful.

The first mailing has "board-elections lists.wikimedia.org" as "from". The result is that now we are getting a big amount of auto-responses in the moderation queue of that mailing list. Given that we don't care (or we cannot do anything) about server autoresponders and out-of-office notices, can we use a "no-reply" type of From address, please?

HTML email with plaintext backup would be ideal, if technically feasible.

I don't know whether this is relevant here or only in T287023: Sending two mass emails to eligible voters for the board elections 2021, but just in case, I'll mention the need to skip bot accounts.

I have updated the dates of the mailings to August 20 and 27, which are consistent with the previous plan (before the election was postponed.

I'm declining this task. Currently there are no plans to use Wikimedia Space (Discourse) for Foundation activities. In any case, make Wikimedia Login work in Discourse for users without an email address is probably a big technical challenge.

We haven't touched anything, so it is clearly unreliable right now.
