@Aklapper Please add me so I can a) reorganize the TechCom workflow and b) set up (a) workboard(s) for MCR work.

Hi, I organize WMDE’s design team and would like to have the ability to create boards for sprints and subprojects. (CC @Hanna_Petruschat_WMDE @Charlie_WMDE )

Hi, we in Wikimedia Norge have been talking for a while about using Phabricator to track our work. Therefore I'd like to request access to creating projects as part of that.

@jhsoby-WMNO: Here you go! :) Please keep https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Phabricator/Project_management#Projects in mind when it comes to color/icon conventions and creating subprojects etc, and please ask on https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Talk:Phabricator/Help if you have any questions.
(And personally I'd also love to see some feedback/review similar to WMSE after a while, but that's just my curiosity.)

@Aklapper Thanks! We'll see what we can do. :-)

Could we add @JMinor (iOS Product Manager) and @JoeWalsh (iOS Tech Lead) so that they can organize iOS boards? Thank you!

Edit: It would be great if @Charlotte (Android Product Manager) could be added too. Thanks!

I would like to request project creator status. Every now and then I need to create Phabricator projects for concretely scoped projects (Toolhub is the latest one) and it would be easier to just create them myself than have to bug someone each time. I agree to adhere to the project creation guidelines and to create projects conservatively.

Request to create a project for the work we are going to do with the Swedish National Archives and the Linked data project TORA #TORALinkedData - see Property P4820

Harej removed a subscriber: Harej.Jul 16 2018, 10:00 PM

@Salgo60: Do you regularly have to create projects? If not: If you just need one project, see https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Phabricator/Creating_and_renaming_projects which data to provide in a task under Project-Admins to get it created. Thanks!

Salgo60 added a comment.EditedJul 17 2018, 10:32 AM

Yes hope so. I see the TORA project to learn best way of doing this

I am an old Scrum Master and used JIRA and like the idea of having a public Workboards for every integration project done. As the TORA project is our first integration with a "Linked Data driven" project for medieval location places ==> it will be complex and I hope this project will have rather good visibility with an interested "partner" at the "other side" so that is a good candidate for learning good patterns....

As I push that the Swedish cultural institutions should have public workboards like Wikidata I feel that I will try to set up Workboards that also for changes in old "integrations" we have done and also new.... So far I have been working with the following WD Properties

  • P3271 - Dictionary of Swedish National Biography
  • P4607 - Swedish Musical Heritage composer ID
  • P5324 - Swedish National Archives ID ==> that we can link to 400 years of archive with a physical space of 700 kilometer
  • LIBRIS - Swedish National Library hasmoved to a Linked Data system and becomes the first national library to fully transition to linked data. We hope to find good way of working together
  • P4820 - TORA - a linked data system concerning historical settlements in Sweden
  • P5101 - Swedish Literature Bank AuthorID

@Salgo60: Ah, thanks! (These might be partially subprojects of WMSE I guess?). Here you go! :)

Request to be a Project Admin or create a Project for new ChangUserPasswords extension.
https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T202275

I would like to request addition to the #acl*Project-Admins group, as I every now and then would like to create projects for MediaWiki extensions if I start working on them and they acquire some tasks. I have read project creation guidelines and will follow them.

@MGChecker: Here you go. (I'm not sure we've documented also setting the bugzilla= or phabricator= parameter in the infobox on extension homepages on mediawiki.org once a project in Phabricator has been created, and the extension maintainer should be aware and preferably agree that a project should exist in Phabricator just to avoid having more than one place where bugs/tasks/feature requests for the extension are tracked.) Thanks!

I would ike to be able to create milestones and sub-projects for Parsoid / Mediawiki-Parser. Can I get the necessary permissions to do so? Thanks.

Hi, I used to be a project owner, and now it seems those rights were removed. I need to create projects for my workflows, can I please have my project owner rights back? Thanks!

@mcruzWMF You are still a member of acl*Project-Admins, are you sure rights were removed? You should still be able to create projects with https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/project/edit/form/4/

JMinor removed a subscriber: JMinor.Oct 30 2018, 9:19 PM

@mcruzWMF: For future reference please explain what makes you think that rights were removed, otherwise we'd have to guess what you tried and where. Thanks.

@Aklapper good point, I'm sorry I didn't clarify.
@mmodell I couldn't see the button to create a new project here: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/project/ But I can see it now!
Thanks for the help!

I would like to request addition to the #acl*Project-Admins group, to be able to manage the Milestones for Wiki-Loves-Monuments. Would that be possible? Thanks :)

KCVelaga added a subscriber: KCVelaga.EditedNov 19 2018, 5:33 AM

I have been involved in organising various outreach activities for Wikimedia projects, include large projects such as conferences and campaigns. My previous experience can be seen at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:KCVelaga/Events_%26_outreach. I would like use Phabricator for my upcoming events/projects to coordinate tasks and the team. My next immediate project is https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Project/Rapid/KCVelaga/TWLCon_India_-_2019.

@Krishna_Chaitanya_Velaga : For the start, could you request a project by following https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Phabricator/Creating_and_renaming_projects , and if you need to create more projects more often in the future, can we hand this out to you? :)

@Aklapper Yes, I would need to create more tasks projects in future, for a range of outreach activities. I frequently organise activities, and I see dashboard as the best way to coordinate things between the team.

Hi. I would like to ask to be added to acl*Project-Admins because I need to frequently create new projects for CommTech projects and update herald rules for our projects. Not having to file a task every time I need a change would be great. :)
