i am having a problem on my wiki, where i have a small padlock to show that the page is protected, but it does not stay in line with the title when site notice is being used.

on wikipedia, the icon stays in line

i contacted wikimedia asking how they managed to make it "stay still".

this is their reply:

However, the technical issue you describe is not an issue with our software or hardware, but rather an error in the software or hardware you are using.

Since my site is mediawiki 1.15.3, it is the same software as wikipedia so something has gone wrong somewhere in my wiki.

if it only works on 1.16 then i will upgrade
