Could you please enable StringFunctions that are included in Extension:ParserFunctions?

We plan and need to use some functions such as #replace or #pos and are currently very limited.

This Extension:ParserFunctions is already present in Wikinews.fr, you will probably just need to add $wgPFEnableStringFunctions = true.

Basically, the answer is no, unfortunately.

In many cases, using Lua/Scribunto modules is probably better for you
