Add tracking for reference editing to Wikidata Bridge
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

As a product owner I want to know how many people clicked through to Wikidata to edit references there after editing with the Wikidata bridge in order to be able to properly prioritize adding reference editing capabilities to the Wikidata bridge in comparison to other features like adding support for the wikibase-item datatype or the ability to edit statements with multiple values.

Problem:
We currently have no idea how many of the people that edited an item via the Wikidata bridge interface went on to Wikidata to edit the references of that item.

Screenshots/mockups:

  • The exact metric is yet to be determined, based on what is possible and useful
    • raw number of clicks on that button?
    • counting both edits and clicks and showing the fraction over some time?
