Description

Brian Wolff's GSoC work focused on improving MediaWiki's support for image metadata (improving EXIF support and adding IPTC & XMP support).

his work currently resides in http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/branches/img_metadata/phase3/ . Once his work has been merged into trunk, the upload wizard should use it to extract relevant information where possible (i.e. GPS template from EXIF, multilingual descriptions from XMP, for example).

There are still some issues with how that data is represented (some GPS data is still in rational form) but that's recorded in a separate bug.
