Confirmed; this was fixed the other day in https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/mediawiki/skins/Timeless/+/649110 which should actually be deployed in, uh... next year?

I am still seeing some slight character cutoff issues after the patch, but based on the screenshot that's just the widget itself across all skins (as it's clearly doing the same in MonoBook and Vector).
