Description

List of steps to reproduce (step by step, including full links if applicable):

What happens?:

  • both the files show the same, but:
    • in dewiki there is a background color,
    • in commonswiki there is the background color transparent

What should have happened instead?:

  • both the background colors should be shown transparent, because it is transparent

Software version (if not a Wikimedia wiki), browser information, screenshots, other information, etc:

  • newest Chrome or Firefox browser

Event Timeline

In FF 93.0 and 94.0 and Chrome 95

Both show white. Mouse over, the chequerboard appears

And both are using the identical image.. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/6d/Loon_Arms.svg/1090px-Loon_Arms.svg.png

No, in commons it looks like white background, but it's a transparency on the page background. In dewiki it's white background on white page background. Change css page background color to see the difference.

To show it using dark background: in commons:

In dewiki:

image.png (777×635 px, 39 KB)

use newest Chrome or Firefox browser

"Newest" is relative. Please always provide exact version information so others don't have to guess - thanks!

both the background colors should be shown transparent, because it is transparent

That is the case here, running Firefox 94.0 on Fedora while being logged in:

Whatever the problem is, it is not default server-side.

@Aklapper But I have shown one contribution before, that there is a non transparent background in dewiki when mouse not over, and there's not such background in commons. Why is there a difference?

Sorry, no idea - custom add-ons or extensions in the web browser, gadgets or user scripts, maybe something else. A good question for a support forum instead...
