The Manuel de Codage which is used as a refrence for WikiHiero (http://www.catchpenny.org/codage/) seems to always include delimiters between cartouche signs and hieroglyphs. Going to ask the relevant WikiProjects.
Meh, MdC states clearly that there has to be some kind of separation. Let's not multiply deviations from standard in our software.
